Virtual Golem was composed for ensemble Kwartludium in 2024 as a part of a
residency in Gdansk and Warsaw sponsored by the Swedish Arts Council. The
piece uses pitch tracking software to allow the ensemble to trigger the electronic
voice using their instruments.
The piece can be heard as a sonic interpretation on how to construct a Golem. A ritual containing elements of virgin soil, spring water and permutations of sacred numbers has been reimagined in the realm of music. Through various sounding actions, a fifth member arises from dense air.
